Periodically, the NFPA Aviation Section sponsors an international educational seminar. The last seminar was jointly held in Singapore in 2005 in cooperation with Singapore Aviation Academy.  To bring its members and interested parties up-to-date information in aviation fire protection, the next seminar will be held in June 2010 in conjunction with the NFPA Conference and Expo at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The topic areas for this seminar will include:

The one-day seminar will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.  It will serve as a lead into the NFPA Conference and Expo starting on June 7th.   The objective is to provide professionals involved with aviation crash rescue and facility fire protection with the latest information on important changes and new technologies in the field.  Improved aircraft survivability increases the chances of survivors for crash incidents occurring at airports. The level of protection provided at airports has been the subject of several recent studies.  New aircraft will use much more composite materials than in the past. Aircraft and helicopter facility protection standards continue to be assessed based on test data,  loss experience, and new technology.   Environmental impact continues to affect firefighting agents used for aviation fire protection. International experts will provide the latest information on these and other topics relevant to aviation fire safety.

Continuing education units (CEU) will be awarded to participants.

As an additional bonus, participants will be eligible to join the NFPA Aviation Section on a tour of a local aviation facility.
