Radiation is the heat transfer mode that can cause materials to ignite and people to burn when they are not in direct contact with the fire. HAI evaluates radiation hazards on a regular basis. Applications include analyzing ignition patterns in fire investigations and evaluating radiant heat severity on equipment exposed to fire in large industrial complexes. Our technical staff has written radiation heat transfer algorithms for several models. Our modeling specialists are skilled in the use of heat transfer and computational fluid dynamics simulations with strong radiative coupling.
