Modeling — Model Development
For some projects, HAI will make additions/modifications to the FDS code. Many of the examples presented here have benefited from this code-level involvement. HAI currently has grants to improve the combustion model in FDS and to develop a comprehensive interface for FDS. Furthermore, HAI develops its own CFD simulations. HAI has also developed a wide variety of computer models based on principles different from those of CFD. These would include Surface Flame Spread, Fire and Smoke Spread, and Two-Phase Flow. HAI sells software to aid in the design and certification of clean agent systems.
