Modeling — FDS

FDS, Fire Dynamics Simulator, is a computational fluid dynamics fire model developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Hughes Associates' researchers have been contributing the development of FDS for over a decade and have played a major role in the development of Version 5 of FDS. FDS and its companion program, Smokeview, are the gold standard for CFD modeling of fire. The unique development experience possessed by Hughes Associates gives our engineers a tremendous advantage in understanding the proper and scientifically rigorous application of this power modeling technology.
