The Children’s Hospital, Aurora, CO: Fire Protection System Commissioning Services
HAI provided commissioning of fire alarm and other life-safety systems for this new hospital complex located on the Fitzsimmons Health Care campus. As commissioning agents, HAI provided design review services to all life safety systems, participated in weekly project meetings, and is currently engaged in acceptance testing of all installed life safety systems, including: fire alarm, sprinkler, smoke control, and their associated interfaces with security, nurse call and communication systems. In addition, HAI is responsible for review and approval of all egress components, emergency and exit lighting, and the development of life safety implementation and maintenance procedures.

HAI provided review, inspection, and commissioning services for a number of projects on the University of Colorado, Boulder campus. Services included review of design documents, review of shop drawings, coordination of disciplines to facilitate testing, inspection of life-safety systems, and final commissioning of life-safety systems. HAI provided these services for over twelve projects including the University Memorial Center, Discovery Learning Center, Museum Collections Building, Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology Building, and the Bear Creek Apartments projects.
Yerba Buena Tower San Francisco, CA: Smoke Control Analysis, Testing and Certification of Smoke Control System
HAI provided a smoke control analysis for the Yerba Buena Tower, San Francisco, CA. Yerba Buena Tower is a 36 story mixed occupancy building having an approximate plan floor area of 50,000 square feet. The building contains residential apartments, hotel rooms of the Four Seasons Hotel, the Four Seasons Hotel Lobby with registration, restaurant and meeting rooms, health club and retail areas. The scope of HAI’s responsibilities included the acceptance testing and certification of the new mall smoke control system.
