Fire Protection Engineer – Dallas, Texas

Hughes Associates, Inc., is seeking a mid-level Staff Fire Protection Engineer to add to our expanding Dallas office.  Qualified candidates will have a degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related engineering discipline with fire protection experience and three (3) to five (5) years of experience.

As a member of our team you may:

  • Design fire protection systems, including fire alarm, suppression systems, smoke control systems, and mass notification systems
  • Conduct building fire protection, code and life safety evaluations
  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations
  • Plan and direct engineering activities for your own projects

AutoCAD experience is required.  Qualified candidates must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and be on the path to becoming a registered Fire Protection Engineer.  This position requires experience in fire protection system design and a strong understanding of NFPA codes, building codes, and hazards assessment. Successful candidates will have excellent report writing and interpersonal skills.  They should also have an ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies and have good communication and negotiating skills.

The Armonk office is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer/Project Manager to augment the growing operations in the New York Region.  Candidates should be a registered Fire Protection Engineer with proven project management and fire protection engineering experience. 

As a member of our team you will:

  • Plan and direct engineering activities for your own projects.
  • Conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses.
  • Design fire protection systems including fire alarm, sprinkler and special hazard systems.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
